Dr. Iman Rahimi Thornton

Dentist

My name is Dr. Iman Rahimi Thornton, and I’m a compassionate, fun-loving general dentist. Born in Kuwait and raised in Dubai, I was led to the medical field at a young age. However, when my mother’s life became compromised by a deadly scorpion bite, I saw the difference doctors were able to make and knew immediately I was called to help others medically. However, I later obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in the United Arab Emirates, followed by a two-year Doctorate of Dental Surgery in San Antonio and a one-year Advanced Education Residency in Rochester, New York. Throughout my journey, I fell in love with Texas and returned here to put down my roots. I’m proud to be a part of this wonderful community serving you.

For those of you who don’t know me outside of the dental office, I wanted to take a moment for a more personal introduction.

Part of my story is meeting my wonderful husband, Paul, a Bryan local who played a huge role in helping me transition to life in Texas. I love being his wife, biking, traveling, cooking, spending time with my furbaby Ada, and serving in my community. Oh, and my super power as a dentist is bringing a calming presence to my patients, even during the toughest procedures.

“I moved to the Reno area in 1984 and have called Reno my home ever since. I graduated from Truckee Meadows Dental Assisting Program in 2000, started my career as a chair side assistant and the past 16 years I have focused on the admin/front desk responsibilities. I love that in the dental field you can meet people from the community, form great friendships and support their dental health. I have 16 year old twins, a boy and a girl. When I am not busy with their school activities, sports, and their teen social life I like spending my time with friends and family. I enjoy reading, movies, traveling,cooking,wine tasting and anything outdoors.”

“I was born & raised on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore of Incline Village. I have been in Dentistry at the front desk for almost 25 years. I enjoy seeing patients everyday and helping them achieve their dental dreams. I am married with 2 children and 2 stepchildren. I also have a beautiful 18 month old grandson, who is my whole world. I have 4 dogs and love being in the garden.”

I am a local native and have lived here most of my life. I have been in dentistry for almost 20 years and truly enjoy providing excellent care to my patients. I started in orthodontics, moved to pedodontics for several years, then found my love to be in general dentistry. It is the relationships that are built inside a stable practice that I really love.

I have been very involved with the local music scene over the years and have been the front person for several bands and involved with theatrical bands as well.

I have many hobbies and points of interest, and I always enjoy good conversation surrounding such things. I have a wonderful husband and beautiful daughter and am completely in love with them and my life!

“I was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, CA. I have been in the dental field for over a decade. I attended the Dental Hygiene Program at The College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, NV and have been practicing as a dental hygienist for over 6 years. I enjoy educating my patients to better their oral health while providing a gentle and exceptional experience. I am lucky to be surrounded by such a great team here at Blue Water Dental Care. On my free time, I enjoy playing golf, hiking with my dog Murphy, and spending time with my family and friends.”

“I was born and raised in Reno. Although, when I was young, my family and I lived in both Ohio and Colorado before settling back home! I am married and have 3 girls. I got a small taste of my dental career in high school working as sterilization in a small dental office, which in turn, encouraged my career as a Dental Hygienist. I decided go to Dental Hygiene school in Connecticut to get out of this small town atmosphere. But, what I quickly realized was how special this area really is. My husband and I love raising our girls here. I love the change of seasons the most. We spend our time running to softball or soccer practice, and when we can, we love to travel and camp. But I’m most content spending time at home in my garden!”
