On the days leading up to your first visit dental appointment at Thornton Dental, we ask you to fill out patient paperwork found on our website, and bring it to your first appointment. This will reduce your wait time before your first appointment. Patients love the opportunity to fill out their new patient paperwork at their leisure before their appointment.
Please also assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18. Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
Let our Reputation of Excellence Transform Your Dental Experience and Help you Achieve the Healthy, Confident, and Comfortable Bite and Smile You’ve Always Wanted.
At Thornton Dental, we treat people of all ages, including infants and young children. We recommend that your child visit our office for their first dental visit when their first tooth emerges or when they turn one year old.
This gives us the opportunity to develop a baseline for their oral health and spot potential concerns early. Poor oral health can lead to delayed development in your child’s speech or eating habits. Further, it can increase the need for orthodontic treatment when your child is an adolescent. Caring for your child’s oral health will impact them for the rest of their life.
Your first visit is all about you – your comfort, your happiness, and your health. Your first visit will be unlike any other visit you have had at a dental office. When you arrive at our office, one of our team members will give you a warm welcome and give you a tour of the office. You will then meet with Dr. Rahimi-Thornton. Expect the first visit to the office to take at least an hour. You will be asked about your overall health, previous dental history as well as expectations going forward. Your initial appointment usually will consist of an examination and review of your treatment options.
We will take digital photos of your mouth and smile. These photos serve as a digital baseline of how you are today and help us see future changes. After your examination, we will review our findings with you. With the aid of technology, you will see and understand what’s happening by viewing it on the chair-side computer monitor via an intraoral camera. You can see what Dr. Rahimi-Thornton sees. With instant digital x-rays, we will also detect any issues not visible to the eye. All this reduces the amount of radiation you’re exposed to, one of our long-term goals.
